Ed founded Waiheke Unlimited in the 1990s, at a time when tourism on Waiheke Island was still in its infancy.
With extensive business experience in both New Zealand and overseas, Ed was well positioned to showcase the then-undiscovered gem of Waiheke Island, making some of its most spectacular properties available as holiday accommodation for visitors from around the world.
His unrelenting hard work and dedication to the business means that more than 25 years later, Waiheke Unlimited remains one of the island’s most trusted names in holiday home management.
Although Ed has now stepped back from day-to-day operations, he remains actively involved in the business while also pursuing other exciting projects.
Tom joined Waiheke Unlimited in May 2020, during a time of unprecedented disruption to the tourism industry due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Amid border closures and cancelled travel plans, Tom was tasked with steadying the ship and preparing the business to bounce back once restrictions lifted.
With a strong background in hospitality, tourism, and the Waiheke wine industry, Tom brought with him over 15 years of experience living and working on the island.
Five years on, the company is thriving. Under Tom's leadership, the portfolio of Waiheke holiday homes has grown significantly, and we now welcome more than 5,000 guests each year.
Where would we be without Manon? Our multi-lingual superstar does it all. Fluent in English, French, and Spanish, she manages guest communications, prepares detailed monthly owner reports, and handles the books with precision.
Manon holds a Master’s Degree in International Business and Marketing and brings nearly a decade of Waiheke Island experience to her role. She has worked across a wide range of sectors, including front of house, retail, events, and office management — always with a strong customer focus.
Her organisational skills and dedication make her the crucial link between our property owners and guests.
Laura is our housekeeping maestro. With over 15 years of experience in high-end hospitality and tourism operations across South America, Europe, and beyond, Laura ensures the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation across all our Waiheke holiday rentals.
She is the key connection between the office and our cleaning team, communicating fluently in both English and Spanish. Her eye for detail and ability to problem-solve under pressure are a major part of why our homes consistently receive glowing guest reviews.
